Gilt bronze, 3.1mm deeply rounded face band, slightly flared to the banded shoulders. Raised heart (natural form) bezel with line engraved border and central. That motif is taken from Christianity. At the time, Vikings were coexisting with Christians and some were converted. Christian symbols were embraced and frequently incorporated by Vikings, both converted and practicing Old Norse paganism. Surface textured from burial. Professionally refurbished with the 24karat gold overlay restored for contemporary wear. Gift boxed with a certification of authenticity.
