Gilt bronze, size 9 ¾ with 2.2mm rounded face band. Raised square bezel with early representation of the Star of Bethlehem which in its earliest form was four pointed as here. This one is on hatched ground with a cross centered. That feature is absent on later examples. See Ancient Rings, Pollio, p.81 for the form. That example is dated 364-378 based on is inscription dedicating it to Dominica. This example is an early expression of dedication to Christianity, legalized by the edict of Mediolanum of 313AD. Professionally refurbished with the 24karat gold surface restored for contemporary wear. Jewelry gift boxed with Certificate of Authenticity. Rare wearable size.
