Gilt bronze, size 7 1/2 with some slack allowed by the overlapping tip band, characteristic for Viking rings. Diamond shaped bezel stipple engraved with double line and stipple borders and a double line and stipple saltire centered. The saltire is a Christian symbol. Vikings borrowed Christian symbols including the cross, for decoration long before their conversion in the late 11th century. Professionally refurbished with the 24karat gold surface restored. Gift boxed with a certificate of authenticity.
