Cambridgeshire, England, 866-1067 AD. Circular, size 10, 1.6mm at the bottom swelling to 3.6mm at the top. The top 2/3 is a deeply modeled roped motif. The spiral or helix was a favorite Viking form. Professionally refurbished with the 24karat gold overlay restored. Vikings exchanged wedding rings on the pommel of the groom’s sword. These are also known to have been worn in the hair. Gift boxed with a certificate of authenticity.
