Gilt bronze, size 10 ¾. 3.0mm width. Flat face with a medial ridge. Each side hand scored in angular pattern simulating roping or spiral, a favorite Viking form. The result is paired roped bands divided by the ridge. The decoration may have had spiritual significance. As our knowledge of Viking culture and religion grows, the answer may be waiting. Worn and surface textured from burial. Professionally refurbished for modern wear with the 24karat gold overlay restored. Jewelry gift boxed with a certificate of authenticity. Rare large wearable size.
