Late Roman/Byzantine period representing the late Imperial, fall of Rome and beginning of the Dark ages. Gilt bronze with the 24karat gold restored. 3.4mm flat band and rounded/square bezel which could have been cut for a signet or, as here, left vacant. See Ancient Rings, Pollio, p.76 for another example. Gift boxed with certificate of authenticity.
