LARGE VIKING WEDDING RING 10th-11th century AD. , SIZE 11 1/4
SKU:A2815
9th century, Cambridgeshire England. Bronze, with a rounded face and 2.6mm width band flaring slightly to the top which is modeled as a small pyramid or nub, a rare variation. Made with a central core to distribute the molten metal and heat. The core was then laboriously removed by hand with the remnants still visible. Vikings exchanged rings on the pommel of the groom’s sword. Professionally refurbished with the 24karat gold surface restored. Jewelry gift boxed with a certificate of authenticity. Rare size and variation.
