16th-early 17th century. Gilt bronze. Large size 8. 4.5mm rounded face band with circular bezel, not simply cut in but slightly domed and thicker than the band. A variation on the heart rings which were popular at the time, perhaps with special significance. Professionally refurbished with the 24karat gold surface restored and jewelry gift boxed with a certificate of authenticity.
