Anglo-Saxon dating to the period when Vikings invaded and settled in the British Isles. They occupied over half the territory with the Anglo-Saxons occupying the rest. This ring is bronze, size 7 1/2 with 2.9mm rounded face band flaring at the shoulders which are decorated with transverse hatching, The rectangular bezel is decorated with 5 concentric dot motifs, a typical Anglo-Saxon motif. See Ancient Rings, Pollio, p.42 for other examples. Professionally refurbished with the 24k gold overlay restored. See the reference image which shows the process.
