Bronze, size 8 1/2. Rounded face band, 5.9mm width, with raised rectangular bezel with integral diminutive key bit. These rings were used to open jewelry boxes, the ownership of which was prestigious. As a result, many were made for show only and worn where no such box existed. This example was likely a prestige statement for a woman of fashion. As found condition with light surface texture and dark uniform patina. Jewelry gift boxed with certificate of authenticity.
