8TH-11TH century AD. Gilt bronze with 2.4mm rounded face band. The shoulders with circular expansions. Round bezel hand cut with a circle within saw tooth border, a crude representation of the sun. Perhaps a reference to the Wheel of Fortune, worshiped earlier under pagan beliefs and one of many that continued on along with Christianity. Professionally refurbished with the 24karat gold overlay restored. Jewelry gift boxed with a certificate of authenticity.
