Sasanian/Achaemenid which later evolved into the Persian culture. Gilt bronze, size 7 with 2.1mm low rounded band flared to the reeded shoulders. Raised stepped circular bezel with incised border and two abstracted figures with the fire altar between. The motif is well known on coins of the period. The fire altar represented the energy of Ahura Mazda, The Creator. Worshipers concentrated on prayer by gazing into the fire. Professionally refurbished with the 24karat gold overlay restored. Jewelry gift boxed with a certificate of authenticity.
