Exceptional example for a woman of status. Size 7 ½ with 3.4mm rounded face band stepped at the shoulders and with a broad base lug in the Roman taste. Raised bezel in two stages, of lenticular form, emulating the squinting eye. It was believed that the evil eye or evil glance could cause misfortune and that it was necessary to employ protection in the form of an amulet or ring which could repel the evil. Professionally refurbished with the 24karat gold surface restored for contemporary wear. Gift boxed with a certificate of authenticity.
