Gilt bronze, size 3 ¾ for wear on the small finger between the first two joints as was the fashion. Rounded band, 1.8mm flaring to the grooved shoulders which rise to a garish rectangular section pyramid form which was fashionable in the 14th century only. Most are mounted with a stone. This one is simply rounded at the top with a dot in a circle motif, undoubtedly in respect to the constraints of the class system in which overstepping one’s place could draw scrutiny and even repercussions.
