19th century, gilt bronze of iconic form with inscription ribbon supported by pierced tendrils. It Cyrillic inscription reads REMEMBER ME and these rings were particularly popular during the Franco-Prussian War of 1870 when soldiers called to service gave them to their sweethearts.
